So lengthy, style month! Final Tuesday, the proverbial curtains closed on Louis Vuitton’s Belle Époque-themed grand finale and all of the editors, bloggers and fashions headed residence. (Not counting those that left days earlier to make it to Justin and Hailey Bieber’s wedding ceremony, that’s.)
Whereas we’re unhappy to bid adieu to so many memorable type (and cultural) moments — Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Barclays Middle bash, the second coming of J.Lo’s internet-breaking Versace gown, Christian Lacroix’s return to Paris Trend Week by the use of Dries Van Noten, Chanel’s runway crasher — we’re past desperate to tackle all of the enjoyable Spring 2020 developments that made themselves identified.
This batch of collections was not about subtlety. Many designers seemed to the previous this season, borrowing a few of the 15th and 18th centuries’ most sartorially dramatic developments. Assertion hats have been in every single place (thanks, Jacquemus) as have been the brightest shades of orange and the shiniest of golds. Additionally, polka dots received a cool-kid replace as did grandmotherly crochet and pseudo-conservative Bermuda shorts.
One other factor to notice: as soon as the climate warms once more, carrying your underwear in public won’t solely be socially acceptable, it’ll be extremely inspired.
